The Town of Littleton's Open Space and Recreation Plan is maintained and updated by the Open Space and Recreation Plan Implementation Committee. The Open Space and Recreation Plan Implementation Committee is a group of volunteers appointed by the Board of Selectmen to update the Open Space and Recreation Plans in 2003, 2009, and 2016. Having an up-to-date plan approved by the State's Division of Conservation Services in required for the Town to be eligible to receive funding through various state grant programs.
2018 Open Space & Recreation Plan Final Approval Letter
On December 21, 2018, the Town of Littleton received final approval from the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs that the Open Space and Recreation Plan has been approved. This will allow Littleton to participate in Department of Conservation Services (DCS) grant programs.
2016 Open Space & Recreation Plan
The Board of Selectmen held a public hearing on Monday, July 11, 2016 on the proposed Open Space and Recreation Plan, prepared by the Open Space and Recreation Plan Implementation Committee with assistance from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, and voted to submit that plan to the Division of Conservation Services.
Open Space & Recreation Plan Update
The Town of Littleton has obtained technical assistance funding from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) to update the Town's Open Space and Recreation Plan. On June 17, 2015, MAPC facilitated a public forum on recreational needs.
A second public forum was held on March 15, 2016.
