[ARCHIVED] Now Hiring for Afterschool Positions!

The Town of Littleton is seeking qualified candidates to work at the CLUB, our afterschool program for grades 3-8, for the Park and Recreation Department. Full Job descriptions can be found on the Human Resources page.


The following positions are being sought:

  • CLUB Special Course Coordinator
  • CLUB Lead Counselor
  • Community Education Instructor

Successful candidates will be subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and CORI and SORI background checks. Applications will be accepted until positions are filled.


Club Special Course Coordinator: The purpose of this position is to administer, implement, and supervise comprehensive youth programs run by the Parks, Recreation and Community Education Department, including but not limited to the CLUB, after school program, and School Vacation Programs for children between the ages of 5 to 15. This Special Course Coordinator must have the ability to work harmoniously with the program staff, participants, and the general public. In addition, they should be able to firmly enforce all facility regulations. The Special Course Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing program ideas and concepts within assigned departmental programs. They are also required to help maintain and improve upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under his/her direction and control. Two (2) years experience working with children in a classroom or recreation programming and working knowledge of children’s learning techniques. Must be 18 years of age at time of hire. MA Driver’s License required. Must be able to pass a CORI & SORI check. Must possess a current certification, or be willing to obtain one in first aid, AED, and CPR. Must be able to pass driving background check. Schedule C, Grade 10, Step 1 - $20.42

Camp Lead I: Duties include supervision of children in a seasonal afterschool program for children. Lead Counselors must have the ability to work harmoniously with the participants and general public. In addition, They are responsible for ensuring a fun and safe environment for all CLUB and afterschool program participants. Lead Counselors are responsible for maintaining the counselor-to-participant ratio for participants between the ages of 5 and 15. Several years’ experience working with children, especially school-aged. Working knowledge of camp programs and children’s play habits. Must have at least two years’ experience working in a camp atmosphere as a leaderCurrent American Red Cross and/or American Heart Association First Aid/CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications.18 years of age or older preferred. Schedule C, Grade 5, Step 1 -$16.61

Community Education Instructor: The purpose of this position is to create, plan, implement, and run programs and classes in a multitude of topics. In the summer these programs typically tend to be enrichment programs for children K-6 that tend to be ½ day to full day programs that are approximately a week long. We are also looking for Adult and Teen programs that would be 1 to 2 hours a week for 6 weeks, or a single session. A Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field is preferred. Has at least one summer of providing similar classes and programs and currently holds American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification. Schedule C1Grade 3 - $20.00 – Grade 6 - $35.00, depends on experience.
