Engine 4 is a 2007 Smeal rescue/pumper powered by a Cummins engine and an Allison transmission. It is equipped with a Waterous 1,500 GPM pump and carries 1,000 gallons of water and 20 gallons of class A foam. It seats 5 firefighters with an SCBA for everyone, including the driver. Engine 4 and Engine 1 alternate each month as 2nd due and the mutual aid response piece. It has a full complement of firefighting and medical equipment including a top-mounted deck gun that is remotely controlled from the pump panel, a pre-connected Amkus hydraulic rescue combination tool, and a semi-automatic defibrillator. It is presently undergoing a half-life refurbishment.
